Meet our President: Rosa Alonso

Rosa is a strategic marketing and multimedia executive, an entrepreneur and an award-winning creator and producer.  As an executive, Rosa has led initiatives and teams at corporations, agencies and start-ups with a focus on integrated marketing, product and digital/social media marketing, multimedia content development/distribution, cross-cultural marketing (Latinx/Hispanic, African American, Asian) and international initiatives. Her experience includes marketing and sales leadership roles in ad/media tech (Integral Ad Science), telecom (AT&T Wireless), financial services (Citibank, Fidelity), media and entertainment (Time Inc./AOL, Univision) and as an agency executive (Edelman, d’exposito & Partners). As an entrepreneur, Rosa has launched award-winning digital brands and continues to advise and support brands, agencies and creators as Founder/President of the strategic marketing, branding and multimedia consulting group Foraché Productions.

A passionate creator, producer and techie, Rosa’s recognition includes The Innovator Award at South by Southwest Interactive Festival (SXSWi) for her work empowering multicultural audiences with her bilingual tech education and lifestyle platform Mi Vida Tec (relaunched as Rosa Alonso Digital) and  LISTA’s (Latinos in Information Science and Technology) Latina of Excellence Award for her leadership in technology and digital media.  Rosa appears regularly in the media and is the technology expert for NBC Universal/Telemundo popular programs, including the Emmy Award-winning Noticiero Telemundo.

Rosa is committed to the educational and economic empowerment of youth, women and communities of color. She is the former Co-Chair of NALIP (National Association of Latino Independent Producers, the premier organization for Latino content creators and media makers) and served as a Trustee on the Board of Barnard College for close to ten years.  Rosa has served on numerous advisory and multicultural advisory boards, including the American Heart Association, Laureate International Universities and Florida State University’s Center for Hispanic Marketing and Communication. She has been a mentor and staunch supporter of professional development and community empowerment organizations, such as the Higher Education Opportunity Program and The Marathon Club, and is currently a member of The Alumni Society, Girls in Tech, She Runs It and the New America Alliance Latina Caucus. Rosa received her BA from Barnard College and her MBA from Columbia Business School. She was honored with the prestigious Columbia University Alumni Medal for her lifelong service to Barnard/Columbia communities.
